About Us
Founded in 2018, Sendmarc was born from the simple desire of its founders, Sam Hutchinson, Keith Thompson and Sacha Matulovic to help make the internet safer. The trio wanted to make it normal for people to have complete confidence, when communicating, transacting and connecting, that the email they received was in fact the ‘real thing' and not sent by an impersonator, imposter or fraudster.
We have purposely pursued a single product focus so that all our energy is directed towards building the best engineered, easiest and fastest to deploy product. This approach also enables us to concentrate on rapid innovation and iteration to make our product always better than any other on the market. And it ensures that our customers receive real expertise from a team who are fully committed to guaranteeing that only real emails from our customers will reach an inbox.

SA tech startup Sendmarc secures funding
Johannesburg-based tech startup Sendmarc has secured an undisclosed amount of funding in an investment round led by Kalon Venture Partners with contribution from Endeavor South Africa‘s Harvest venture Capital II fund.
Investors
Founded in 2018 with capital from its three founders, the company has delivered significant growth since its launch.
The market opportunity, future growth potential and demand for their product led its founders to seek outside funding to support i local and international expansion efforts and further product development. In 2020 and 2021, Sendmarc secured Investment funds, naming Kalon Venture Partners and Endeavor South Africa as strategic and co-investors.
South African Venture Capital company Kalon Venture Partners first invested in Sendmarc in February 2020.
In April 2021 they further increased their investment having seen Sendmarc deliver on average 30% month on month growth during the year.
Kalon Venture Partners CEO Butkow said the Sendmarc team was “exceptional”.
“Kalon’s strategy is to invest in the best teams building innovative scalable technology. The Sendmarc team tick all of these boxes – they continue to show exceptional leadership ability while building on outstanding tech innovation and showing exceptional growth in revenue.”
“This follow-on round is testimony to the Sendmarc team’s ability to deliver a solution solving a large problem across industries. Sendmarc is the solution that makes the internet a safer place and prevents phishing and spoofing which reduces the cloning of emails for malicious intent. A very real threat and an essential and much needed security solution for every business.”
In April 2021, non-profit Endeavor South Africa that “supports innovative, high-impact entrepreneurs in emerge markets’” chose to invest in Sendmarc, through its fund, Harvest Venture Capital II.
On making the investment, Antonia Bothner, Capital Lead at Endeavor said “Sendmarc is an Endeavor Entrepreneur — one of 28 in the country — and we are delighted to be able to co-invest and support this dynamic team.”
